Anisha Bashil to face Zambian opponent

African Boxing Union (ABU) super lightweight champion, Anisha Bashir, will on April 29 take on Zambian boxer, Mary Musole, in an eight-round non-title bout at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe.

This will be the first time for Anisha to fight on home soil after winning the continental title in Kenya late last year.

Promoter Jack Gunde of Gunde Boxing Promotions said it is time for Malawians to watch their champion in action and appreciate the skills that made her queen of Africa.

“We have been organising bouts internationally and locally for some time now. This will be an international boxing bonanza with several mouthwatering encounters,” Gunde said.

Anisha will use the bout to prepare for a title belt fight next month in the United Kingdom (UK).

“This fight will give me good preparation for my UK bout. A win will be good for my morale ahead of the fight. My fans should expect a great fight as I will be preparing to carry the country’s flag in Europe,” she added.

In the main supporting bout, Ruth Chisale will take on Tanzanian boxer, Rehema Abdala.

Other supporting bouts will pit Malawian boxers against their Zimbabwean counterparts.
