Betting company SportPesa has officially taken over as the shirt sponsors of the national Rugby Sevens team. Replacing former partners Kenya Airways who failed to renew its contract last month.
Kenya 7s were left sponsor less after Kenya Airways (KQ) failed to renew its contract.
The partnership with SportPesa Kenya was announced during the launch at Norfolk hotel in Nairobi.
KRU Chairman Mr. Omwela, and SportPesa CEO, Ronald Karauri said shirt sponsorship deal will benefit both National 7s women and men.
“SportPesa is pleased to be the shirt sponsor of Kenya 7s”, Sportpesa CEO, Ronald Karauri said.
The gambling company over the past two years has been a key player in Kenya sports.
From being the official sponsor of Gor Kenya Premier league to Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards football club jersey sponsor, the company has promoted the sports industry and transformed the morale of players.
During the launch of KPL sponsorship. The company went ahead and announced Ksh 100,000 to the player of the month over every season.
